7 things for 7 days: December 2012 week 50

  1. There’s always someone we haven’t seen for a long time, and aren’t able to meet at the moment, someone we miss. Write a letter – not an email or Facebook message – a really old-fashioned, handwritten letter. How many handwritten documents by the ones you love do you have?
  2. A suggestion by Simplify your life author Werner Tiki Küstenmacher for a tradition everyone should have is the Blue Hour. The idea is to spend one hour every day during Christmas time without telephone and TV, laptop, cell phone and similar stuff. Switch off the lights and enjoy 60 minutes of candle light while listening to or reading a good (Christmas?) book. Or just relax and do nothing. Cuddle with your family on the sofa. Try to do this at least once next week.
  3. What a though assignment. I’m still clueless what to buy or make. But what a wonderful feeling it would be next Sunday to look back and see all the Christmas shopping is done. And look forward to realize there are still two weeks left to really enjoy the Spirit of the Season without the stress.
  4. If you live in an area where you’ve got snow: lucky you! Get your scarf and hat ready. It’s time to build a real snowman. For everybody else there are adorable alternatives. Snowman cookies, paper snowmans or how about giving polymer clay a try!?
  5. This might sound crazy at first but brown, neutral wrapping paper in combination with natural materials such as cones, feathers, little twigs formed to stars or snowflakes make lovely packages under the tree.
  6. Is anything more fun than building a tent in the living room with blankets and pillows? Make it as cozy as possible. Then have goo d time inside while reading a Christmas story to your kids.
  7. To be honest I’ve got a sweet tooth. And breakfast for dinner is one of my favorite things to do.Think of scones with jam, rice pudding, waffles, pancakes, muffins, crumbles and cobblers…ah, paradise one earth ;)

  1. I really like this concept. Are you also participating in the #ShareAdvent project? It’s something similar and also fun. Look it up on Pinerest or twitter, I think you’ll will like
